:: Water is the common chemical substance that is essential for the survival of all known forms of life. Water covers 71 per cent of the Earth´s surface and 97 per cent of this is held in saltwater oceans.
Clean, fresh drinking water is essential to human and other life. Traditionally, civilization has historically flourished around rivers and major waterways. Mesopotamia, the so-called cradle of civilization, was situated between the major rivers Tigres and Euphrates. The ancient society of the Egyptians depended entirely upon the Nile and large modern cities such as Rotterdam, London, Montreal, Paris, New York and Hong Kong owe their longevity in part to their easy accessibility to and via water.
Luckily for us there are now revolutionary systems, such as those offered by Agua Sana, that allow us to make our own drinking water. This water contains no impurities and so aids detoxification and was originally used to treat medical conditions related to the kidneys and digestion.
The human body is between 55 and 78 per cent water, depending on size. To function properly, the body requires several litres of water per day to aviod dehydration; depending on the level of activity, temperature and humidity. Most of this is ingested through foods or beverages rather than drinking straight water. It is generally agreed that around two litres is the daily requirement. This amount increases with physical exercise and heat exposure. It is vital when you live somewhere as hot as Spain that you take regular drinks of water even when you are indoors. ::
